SFCDUG February 2019 | ENGYN: A graphical programming online platform for BIM coordination

On February 20th, 12:00 pm PST, SFCDUG welcomes Valentin Noves and Pablo Derendinger from ENGworks. This month’s meeting will be hosted at the AIA 130 Sutter St # 600, San Francisco, CA 94104

Featured Presentation:

ENGYN: A graphical programming online platform for BIM coordination

The virtual construction industry is completely aware of the Graphical programming languages potential applied to pre-construction processes like Dynamo, Grasshopper and Generative components among others. Nevertheless there are still so many gaps and challenges that the developers who created all this apps will need to face sooner or later like the fact that all the multiple solutions where develop for specific programs and not a
common agnostic solution for all of them, so every time we want to jump from one software to the other we have to learn how each interface works and if we even try to share data from one program to the other we need
to download third party scripts that many times are not even updated to the current release.

Valentin Noves is a BIM project manager at ENGworks, where he leads teams on medium and large scale international projects, he is also the Manager of ENGwork’s innovation team providing support on geometric rationalization, programmatic solutions, development of computational workflows for interoperability and MEP analysis. He has continued to push the boundaries of technology focusing on computational design and BIM to deliver buildings in ways that improves current working methods from rationalizing geometrically complex buildings to workflow automation.

Pablo Derendinger is a leading researcher on BIM processes at ENGworks. With a degree in Architecture and years in BIM MEP development and C#/Python knowledge as background, he has built a set of skills to develop
workflows and tools to help the day by day work in ENGworks production teams.. He perform as a“firefighter” and a problem solver, applying all his knowledge and experience as Computational Designer to improve the
work of his colleagues.
